His were the hands which gently placed
photo prompt for Magpie 51 |
There to guide, lend direction for each
Step, leading the pathways of myJourney. Each stone adding the
Strength needed to seek the
Meditations of my days ahead.
The prayers written in stone,
Weathered with time...
The prayers written in stone,
Weathered with time...
Offering wisdom, guidance,
Peace with each interlocking
Pattern. To seek from him
All that was within me,
I only needed to follow
This path laid before me,
Protecting me from the
Dust of the earth, his
Mortar to endure the
Sands of time, all
Laid upon the Foundation.
This was His
Cassay.

Lovely and inspiring.
this is a good strong loving poem.Brava.
very inspiring piece, makes one long for that kind of contentment that being in peace with the world around us brings...
wonderful piece, fancy and realism play so well here.

The interlocking bricks laid with care, creating the path you follow, his mortar to endure the sands of time,
Very well crafted, with tender loving care.
Well done...really like your Magpie.
Oh, this was sweet.
Really lovely, and the labyrinthian walk along the pavement is mirrored in the actual visual shape of the poem. Very nice!

Beautiful poetry.
Your words are flowing so gently... I'm moved...
Stunning. What a beautiful piece to emerge from a load of old bricks!!
Well done!
This is so beautifully written.
I read this aloud and it is very beautiful. I do have one question and I hope you will forgive my ignorance but what is a Cassey?
Thank you all for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I love the interaction and love hearing feedback regarding my efforts.
@ Kristen A Cassay is a cobbled area as in a cobblestone path or roadway. The more common term is causey. I believe cassey is a Scottish form. I was looking for the term for the person(but I could not find it) other than a mason or bricklayer. I know there is a more endeared term by those who do this type of work... I stumbled across 'cassay' in my search and fell in love with it.
Well done. Bravo! Picked it at random from your sidebar and so glad I did. Just a fine work.
