This morning's drive to work shone brightly as I saw reddened wispy clouds moving from a full moon in the west over to the morning sun rising in the east.  It inspired the following words....

scarlet mornings sweep
colorful cadence across
dust-ridden dance floors

while

dancing wallflowers
gaze upon distant faces
freshly painted light

Not many are aware of such phenomena. Most would just drive. You brought to us a wonderful offering of appreciation. Great, Petrina!

Love your set of Haiku poems to acknowledge a beautiful sunrise. I stepped out of the house yesterday morning at just the right moment to see the deep pink eastern sky above me. This miracle is so fleeting, especially now that we live in the woods.

Beautifully written, well-constructed! I know that emphasizing your form here may look a little strange; after all, this is about perceiving the lovely things you saw, but this structure does so much for your description. Excellent choice!

Your poetry is lovely. I can almost picture the sky you describe. Simply lovely.

It must have been a lovely morning!

I think the first sentence of this entry should be part of the poem. Maybe add another sentence in lieu of "It inspired the following words" and then jump directly into the poem. But those are just my two cents. I don't mean to give this critique because I don't like this -- on the contrary, I think this is a very very very good poem. I'm just an editor by profession, and cannot help editing what I enjoy immensely!

PS - thank you for stopping by my blog

I so admire a paintbrush that uses words for paint!
You have a gift ... a beautiful rare gift to see what others do not see until your poetry reveals it.

Hello there Reflections. I've spent a while reading through your beautiful poetry. Such powerful imagery you've used to describe nature in your latest.

Thank you for your wise words on Romantic Friday Writers. Anyone is welcome to comment. It was hard to speak out but it's a lesson critiquers need to learn.
