Life Zested

photo prompt for Magpie 55

Systematic pots of the working man,
Owed lime built up from aging deposits,
Coffee clutch remnants of promises ran,
Words, scarred by tines of time, he exposits.

Hope sliced, placed to top off wounded accounts,
Holes bored into thin skins, doctored not cured,
Coverages bruised, marred numbers she counts,
Scattered pulp, brined medications insured.

Disabled hearts, hold benefits bled dry,
Squeezed tartly, fleshy insight composites,
Juiced, salted aides cubed and swirled, left to try,
Cleansing pots, legislative reposits.

Life zested, social insecurities,
Distraught wedge serves future obscurities.

i like the line "Holes bored into thin skins, doctored not cured,"

i'm always amazed at the variety of imaginative takes on a single prompt. yours certainly addresses some of the "sourness" in this beautiful, yet imperfect, world.

and thanks so much for your lovely comment on my post : )

Whooaa! Sad, painful and so sooo deep!
"doctored not cured," -- that said it all!!
Our society obligations take a lot from us... (sigh)
Very masterfully written, Petrina! A really intense take on the magpie prompt!
