Sunday Sketches - 1st attempt

I've dabbled with various forms of art in the past including soft pastels which I really enjoyed using.  I found some of the oil pastels at a very reasonable price, so thought I would give it a try.  However, scanning it in also caused it to fade a bit, but... here it is.

Thought I would share it with you all over at Sunday Sketches.  This would be my first attempt... but have been browsing over the last couple of weeks and have been totally fascinated with the idea of combining this with some of my poetry here on my blog.  Hope this sketch shows enough.

I am so glad that you joined us with SS! Your art is lovely with an ethereal feeling to it. Scanning art is an art in and of itself!

I hope you join us again and again.

I've only used oil pastels once. Quite messy but alot of fun. I just might dig them out again this week! Thank you for participating. Your piece is lovely and I like your colour choice and how it all blended together in the end. :)

I don't use them often. I guess I need to try them again. Very beautiful effect!

Hi Reflections, I think poetry and oil pastel drawings go wonderfully well. Lovely colors and nice, graceful flowing shapes!

What a nice painting. I've been thinking about sketching something too, but I have trouble finding the time. For a while, I really enjoyed drawing. Any form of creativity stimulates more creativity, so drawing can hopefully improve writing.

Keep doing this, you're good at it.

very soft, gentle colours. Maybe I'll try oil pastels sometime.

I love the gentle colours. It will be good to illustrate your poetry with your own artwork :-)
