Like wings of a dove
Lifting to unending skies
Bound at last for home.

Going back home can be like that oh yes
Love this!
this makes me feel homesick in a way - wow - you managed to pack the longing for the skies and the need for security into this few syllables
btw - there seem to be no english word for the german "Geborgenheit" - that's what your haiku makes me feel for - the only word the translator suggested was security - but Geborgenheit is much more than this - it's feeling at home, safe, well cared for, loved, protected...
All journeys of body or soul, always end at one's own front door.
sweet longing and hope...may they carry you to your destination safely.
The L alliteration in your haiku adds a nice uplifting feel to the image of flight.
Great flow and feel.
This takes my thoughts to flight of home....this is perfect for the season...Happy New Year! :-)
How wonderful! There's nothing like going home.
Ahhh that flight toward home. Great words creating anticipation
Thanks for sharing with One Shot

Home, heart, spirit - may we all rest in their comfort. Such a simple haiku, but it evoked deep feelings. Thanks.
Lovely and expressive, perhaps more so because it uses so few words. A pleasure to read it, thanks.
Nicely said Petrina.
Happy New Year to you.

Wonderful work...
"lifting to unending skies"...
I love it..
Happy New Year :)
Wow! So short, but so beautiful.
Proves that a poem is not determined by the length, but by the strength in it's words!
And thanks for stopping by at my ThursdayTales post!
Cheers~
this is the kind of poetry that I like - no filler, all quiet thriller.
This poem almost feels like a breath of fresh air. It captures the very essence of longing for comfort and home with just a few words. Every word in a poem should be purposeful and important, and you have done that here. Thank you!
