Twas just yesterday when I saw,
First nights of stars so bright, twinkling...
Sharing a love like wonders awe,
Drawing me forever brinking.

Always to be there at the edge,
New journeys found with you to hold,
To share in the beautious ledge,
A life brazen, a life be bold.

Forever together held love,
Our secret place, still the same now,
Hands held up high, flight of the dove,
Walking one journey, always how.

Burdens of joy, laughing through tears,
Together now... and through the years.

A lovely nostalgic poem about facing life together; and very strong ending couplet. Sounds like the two truly gained strength as a pair. Very well crafted, melodic stanzas.

"walking one journey"... beautiful thought, and I love the ending of your poem, captures well this journey of love in this piece.

A beautiful poem, Petrina. "Together now and through the years" sounds so simple, yet I know how many joys and heartaches are shared along such a journey - until death do us part.

Always on the edge, sharing the burdens of joy. That's what it's all about, isn't it? Beautifully done. Thank you for sharing.

The last two lines really grabbed me. Love should get better because of all the struggles. Very sweet.

This photo seems to have taken us both to the same place. Beautifully written, Petrina. Saw the photo of Lucky as I scrolled down and it gave me chills. I have some forever-friends up there chasing rabbits with him. Sweet tribute. So hard to lose our beloved pets.
