Just Moments Ago

Just moments ago with a gentle hand,
Tears fell here for were we to understand,
With softened ears you listened to our pleas,
Tenderly sifting hopes from simple dreams.

Guiding souls onward throughout all the days,
Empowering children, showing them ways,
To build their seeds into towering lives,
Able to reach goals if only one strives.

Never need raise the staff or the voice,
Integrity, morals for all the choice,
Twas dignity and grace forever shown,
Lending little ones space to be grown.

Just moments ago with a gentle hand,
Tears fell here, for were we to understand.

So lovely... if only this loving tender environment could be true for all children. Poignant and sweet.

this is very sweet, Anna is right all children this this kind of haven from the adults in their lives. I looked at your FB profile, I live very close to you in Sunland (2009 station fire location) hope the Wagon wheel fire is not smoking you out up there!

I thought of GOOD MORNING MISS DOVE. This may not be a tribute to a good teacher; but that's how I read it. There is still a calling for that profession though in America it is given no respect and certainly not salaries commensurate with training or passion. Pity. Thanks for a lovely poem. G.

our children are a treasure entrusted to us...if only we realized that and they were treated as so...

I really like this one, thanks!

I like this poem a lot. It is a wonderful reminder that sometimes our children's tears can be tears of repentance if we gently correct them. They can be times of learning. Our own tears are the same, as God corrects us. Peace, Linda

I also read it as a tribute to a teacher,or perhaps parent, one who loved and understood the child within us. I like your soft and sad refrain "Tears fell here..."

Hi Petrina-- this poem has lovely cadences in it and an elegaic feel to it-- I'd love to see you convey some of the abstract statements with physical detail i.e. more concrete imagery-- a lovely write! xxxj

Petrina,
1) Beautiful poetry! Yes, we must ever be so gentle to the young ones to guide and to lead. We'll be rewarded when they come back with success.
2) As a certified life saver I had only once made use of it in a life threatening situation (as stated in my blog) As a life saver yourself you got to using it in First Aid situations you said. How you felt after doing so?

After all the nourishing, encouragement, love . . . then lost?

That was touching. It's a shame there are kids out there left to virtually raise themselves.
