regal wise white owl
perched high in life's branches waits
greeting night and morn
message carried forth
or waiting in hunt of babes
regal wise white owl

While walking my dogs the last few days, we have again been greeted by the very large white owl that hangs near our home. He had seemed to have left for a couple of weeks, but has again returned.

I have only been lucky enough to see them in captivity. What a wonderful treat to be able to witness them properly! Inspiration indeed :)
Very nicely done and the owl is great

we have dove owls in our yard, they sometimes coo us to sleep
Lovely piece of writing.
Thanks for a great read.
Wow, you have a white owl living close to you? Cool.
I have never seen or heard an owl here. Lots of morning doves tho.
Wonderful poem!
How wonderful it must be to see a white owl while walking your dog. Lovely poem. Thanks for visiting my blog.

Thank you all for your kind comments.
Originally when we first started seeing the owl I thought he was very majestic and it totally fascinated me. He is a very large white owl, I've only seen his mate a couple times.
However... now it has become more of tactical issues. He seems to prey on all of the small dogs and cats in the neighborhood. Thought I heard him getting a small dog someone was walking the night before last. He is very brazen and will swoop us as we are walking.
Now we watch very closely so as not to lose our pets!
fabulous in imagery and insights.
:)
there is definitely something very regal about an owl. "waiting in hunt of babes"...apparently of the puppy variety. I can't imagine the idea of an owl sweeping down in my general vicinity.
Perhaps it is his wisdom leaves him undaunted?
Cheers!
Seeing an owl in daylight is somewhat rare. A lucky break perhaps coming your way!
