Worn out Moments

To drive through open spaces,
To walk upon unending land,
To explore towns and places,
To rest my soul upon your sand.

The trip of eternal search,
Walking in the footsteps of man,
Simply resting to your perch,
To rest my soul because I can.

This to find what is unknown,
Leaving life to rest in its art,
Nothing taken to call my own,
Looking only for a new start.

Days of work within the race,
Worn out moments lost in the rhyme,
Serene feelings found in place,
This be the trip of a lifetime.

To drive within space and time,
Worn out moments lost within rhyme.

This is such a brilliant number.

What a fine piece to share with us for Potluck. A richness in it. I like "leaving life to rest in its own art" Yes! and "worn out moments lost in rhyme" ... ah, we don't know that experience! :-)

Thank you for this. Happy Potluck days ... Enjoy.

My favorite line - "leaving life to rest in its art" Reminds me of the message from church yesterday - we are beautiful just in the being, not only in the doing.

This expresses so well the travel lust....not just in the physical sense of seeing new places and people.

Swept away by the beauty and longing..."to rest my soul because I can"..

Beautiful one with a strong refrain. Since I am trying rondels now, I realized you could have easily made this a rondel if you had wanted since the rhyme and the refrain are already there.
