Like Crumbling Spires
Like crumbling spires thus bleed for thee,
Stone-faced moments filled with passion,
Skyward reach, these souls are now free,
Delicate hearts tendered ashen...
Days filled with mortised memories,
Facades artistically hiding...
Crack strewn hearts tender as the breeze,
Life's lost friends held in time biding.
Yet hope casts the dawn's rays of light,
Doors open welcoming the day,
For spaces restored from one's plight,
Shimmering with love show the way.
Like crumbling spires thus bleed for thee,
In my heart always, friends were we.

That is one cryptic final line.... "In my heart always, friends were we." The subtle shift from always to past tense. Hmm... not sure how to interpret that. So kudos for a great final line with options. Opening two lines hooked me pretty well too. Awesome.
Love the poem. Like dustus said, love the hooks The pictures are awesome, as well.
Yeah. You hooked me with your opening line and I stayed entranced right through and beyond the end!

Indeed, it is hope that casts the dawn's rays of light! It is hope that leads humanity forward through the many turbulent and Dark Ages that we have had to endure so many, many times!
Hope the shining diamond leading us onward, ever onward, through the night!
Very nice, indeed!

love this, well done.
You entwine words in such a pretty fashion! Lovely poem.
Beautifully written and an emotive response to the photo prompt. Are you attempting a sonnet here? You have pretty much the structure/rhyme scheme of an English Sonnet but not the meter, It's a nice modern sonnet of course. I write modern sonnets sometimes also.
Lovely subtle march to your words, with a lush imagery and plenty of room for the reader to interpret the visions in crumbled stone.
Love the imagery!
