Over at One Stop Poetry, today is Form Monday. Gay has introduced us to Corbie Sinclair for a lesson on the Nonet. 'In writing it involves a poem with a total of nine lines. The first line must have nine syllables, second line eight syllables, third line seven syllables and so on until you end with one syllable. It has a ABCDEFGHI or alpha numerical form, so each line is a different ending word. The corresponding syllables are 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1.' This is my first attempt at this form and I found it rather challenging. Stop over and give it a whirl.

This was absolutely lovely. We had flowers like this fresh every week when I worked at the law firm. I was the "arranger". I wished each week I could do them better. The art was in the "tall modeling" but they gave such a serene effect to our lobby. Great work with this nonet form. Thanks for writing and linking today. Gay

Beautiful gladiolus, and poem to match. I also found this form harder than it looks--but most of the syllable counting ones are for me. (Tanka so far the hardest.)

I found the Nonet rather difficult as well, but much easier than a sonnet! Yours was beautiful, and the form fit with the subject so well.
