Reality's fenceposts holding strong,
Creativity lingers, drifting...
Images held a part, can this be?
Mind's matter questions, could this be wrong?
Moments in time planted like stakes,
Life whitewashed for all those who see,
Words rise from the depths of beings,
Deflated lives fell within time.
Creativity lingers, drifting...
Realitiy's fenceposts holding strong.

This, my entry for One Stop Poetry's photography interview of Lauren Randolph this week, a puzzling prompt of opposites. Stirring far-fetched worlds, and reminders of how topsy turvy life can really be at times. Hope you all enjoyed my take. Stop by there to share your take and explore more about Lauren Randolph's wonderful photography.

Really like how you juxtapose reality and illusion through the fixity of the fence and the flight of creativity. Very well done challenge response.
dustus pretty much said it all...
great, complex take on the photo!
I enjoyed this a lot
loved the contrast ... i have enjoyed it thoroughly.
Great piece for this photo...the metaphors of fencing, whitewashing, drifting...very nice ...thank you...bkm
A very thoughtful piece. I enjoyed it.
like the abstract feeling this spins.good write.
I enjoyed reading this, your take on the challenge was done beautifully.
Good use of the setting.
There is such a jarring contradiction between the fence and the figuring floating upward - and you captured it. Well done.
Love that middle stanza. Really captures the essence of the photograph. Nice!
brilliant take on the photograph! loved it!
nice...i really like that you brought the fence into it and played it on reality...a unique take...refreshing...
Creativity on a string, anchoring and drifting simultaneously, and somewhere, something really is wrong. Like it.
I am happy I wrote mine first. We went similar directions in our vision of the piece, with emphasis shifted slightly.
not easy to write to this photo because it begs for worn-out responses. But you did it very well; i especially like: Reality's fenceposts holding strong,
Nice poem!
Yep they all said it better than I ever could, you are remarkable !

Abstracted, effective take on the photo. Good piece.
Beautiful - the push and pull of being tethered to reality but feeling creativity inside..with wonderful pink shoes and a balloon you could easily jump that fence..Jae :) sorry to hear about Lucky..I hope she is jumping over nature's fences..
Beautiful! Thank you for stopping by Writing with Debra.
"Moments in time planted like stakes"
love that...:)
I feel that the poem addresses what is behind/within the fenceposts we build around reality, like a clasped hand held out to strangers, fingers loose but not open.
